Day Trips Festive

Yarra Valley Beer and Cider Festival

Anyone who loves a tipple will have cause to head on over to the Yarra Valley this April 9th to celebrate the inaugural Yarra Valley Beer and Cider Festival.

Looking for an excuse to get out into some gorgeous countryside and drink some quality alcohol? This festivity will be a real celebration for passionate beer and cider lovers. It will give you an opportunity to sample some top-notch boutique beers and ciders from around the state, including:

  • Coldstream Brewery
  • Mountain Goat Beer
  • Cheeky Rascal Cider
  • Yarra Valley Cider
  • Killer Sprocket
  • Napoleone Brewers
  • Three Troupers Brewery
  • Grand Ridge Brewery
  • Cherry Hill Orchards
  • Watts River Brewing
  • Hargreaves Hill Handcrafted Ales

And of course, there will be a promising range of food stalls to help soak up all that booze. Yes, that includes Indian, pizza, burgers, spuds, apple pies and those much beloved poffertjes.

Plus there’s some foot-tapping and head-bopping entertainment to keep you otherwise amused.

There is a downside to this privilege – entry is $10, which comes with an official Yarra Valley Beer and Cider Festival tasting glass. If you want to fill those glasses, you’ll exchange $2 for a token that you can spend on 80ml beer and cider tastings. But it’s worth going along to support the event as any profits go back into the community.

Presuming you’ll want to make the most of the event, make sure you get yourself either a designated driver or a Myki pass for a trip via public transport. There’s plenty of parking around the event, with easy walking distances to the festival grounds.
